THE Queen’s china maker, Royal Worcester & Spode, has gone into administration.

It joins a growing list of firms with royal warrants to hit the buffers.

The firm has held its warrant since 1789 and is a favourite with the Queen, who often buys its products as gifts for heads of state.

THE Queen has ordered steps to be taken to prevent Baroness Thatcher disrupting her schedule on Remembrance Sunday.

The order follows a row over protocol at last year’s Cenotaph commemorations.

Sources in Whitehall have revealed that the Queen was furious at being kept waiting by Lady Thatcher, when the former prime minister was centre of attention on the 25th anniversary of the Falklands conflict.

DESPERATE Prince Philip used the royal wee yesterday after getting caught short on a shooting party.

The royal big gun decided he’d never make it to the nearest throne room, so he whipped out the crown jewels in full view of a public road.

Philip, who was leading the party at Sandringham, the Queen’s Norfolk estate, seemed to think he couldn’t be seen.

But a passer-by said: “It was an amazing sight. Those dark glasses didn’t fool anyone and he was caught red-handed with his finger on the trigger.

The Evening Times – October 30, 2008.

THE Queen was given a warm welcome during a trip to Ballater Street in the Gorbals.

It was a right royal knees-up for local residents as they welcomed their special guest.

Scotland’s first female Lord Provost, Dame Jean Roberts, was at the Queen’s side to give her a tour, watched on by interested spectators young and old.
